What to Expect from an EBR

You purchased an analytics solution, integrated the tracking code, and are ready to begin analyzing your content. What’s next?

Connecting the dots between your company’s goals and your content analytics data can be challenging. Understanding the metrics that best represent the audience you care about and how to act on the trends you’re seeing in your data are key issues you need to address within the context of your overall business objectives.

We’re here to help you connect those dots, starting with an Editorial Business Review, or an EBR.

What’s an EBR?

At Parse.ly, we know the most successful companies in the digital world are the ones with the best content and clearest audience insights. The goal of an EBR is to ensure you’re fully equipped to recognize the value in your audience data and maybe even uncover some insights you might have missed. To accomplish this, we want to learn as much as we can to help move your business forward.

From setting goals to achieving them

We start by asking several key questions. For example, how are you currently using your data? What do you hope to achieve by using Parse.ly? What are your long-term and short-term goals? If you’re looking to increase your reach on social media, we’ll discuss what kind of content drives social engagement and brand awareness. If you’re trying to increase your subscriber base, we’ll break down the type of content that leads people to pay.

In short, we’ll offer strategic advice based on your data and our industry expertise. This consultative process is designed to help you optimize your analytics, resolve problems, and get the best possible experience from using Parse.ly.

A team of experts

EBR sessions are typically broken into two parts:

In the first part, we learn how your team is using our solution. You share everything from likes and dislikes, to the key trends that will help you reach your business objectives, and where you’re getting stuck Your insights help us as we develop future generations of the product. We want to understand how Parse.ly is working for you. This is also a good opportunity to address any outstanding issues or questions you have, and for us to share any updates on our end.

Diving into the data

In the second part of the EBR, we take a look at your data. Based on your goals, we analyze and measure your site’s performance in the areas that are most relevant to you. We discuss what the data says about your audience and help determine the cause of any positive or negative trends we see.

We discuss how you’re currently evaluating success and suggest additional insights that will offer you a different perspective. We even compare your data against what we observe across our network, and determine the benchmarks that make sense for you.

Ultimately, no one knows your business as well as you do, and the data only tells half of the story. Your context is invaluable to understanding your data, and it’s with this insight that we’ll partner with you to provide the best advice.

We also know that your company and its needs are constantly evolving. That’s why we offer these deep dive consultations on a yearly or bi-yearly basis to keep the conversation going. As your company grows and its goals change, we want to ensure that Parse.ly continues to deliver the clearest possible insights to your team. We’re invested in the success of your business, and the best way for us to help you achieve that success is with an EBR.
